No dresser, no closet, no AC. Note that my room (2) is the least expensive room available. The motel is noisy unless everyone is asleep, which is not unexpected, as all walls are paper thin.
Great views from the grizzly cabin but it is in serious disrepair with damp on the walls and faulty light switches. Not worth $160 a night but was the only place available. Booking was also not a good experience as they didn't reply to emails (i was booking from outside north america) and so had to phone to confirm the booking. There are some newer cabins whic are more comfortable but are located off site in what can only be compared to a building site in a quarry. Views are not as good from here either. Again really not worth $160 (ex taxes).
We stayed a week ago. I loved it. It was the best hotel with a beautiful view. I can't wait to come back.
As far as motel it's self; clean facility for the most part, a little out dated on the inside. We had a hole in our floor near one of our beds so just had to be careful not to fall through floor, couldn't get the tv to work (but who needs tv) just a side note. Overall would stay here again due to easy access to GNP.
The motel is in the process of renovating, doing four rooms at a time.
The Red Eagle is a mom-and-pop motel, typical of its type. Water was hot, sheets and towels were clean, owner friendly. Internet was sometimes usable though problematic. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave. Location good, ample parking, cafe and laundromat next door.
Maybe the other rooms they offer are newer and in better conditions? Not sure, but worth asking.
Our room (#13) was in a detached part of the building and, though it was large, had a great view and a refrigerator and microwave (which we were very thankful for), it was very run down and we didn't feel comfortable about having a shower. Very old unit. Disappointing.
Value 5/5 considering the location. Internet 2/5. Overall 4/5 based on expectations.
Glacier National Park is having their busiest season ever, and future seasons also look busy. There aren’t many motels convenient to the park. I made my arrangements at the “last minute” (about ten days in advance). Other motels seemed full, and also two-three times the price of the Red Eagle.
Great stay if you are looking for easy/fast entrance into east side of Glacier National Park; you can see Park from hotel.
Good stay
I gave the motel 4 stars, instead of 5, because of poor internet. I would have given 5 stars because everything else was as expected, with no bad surprises during my four-night stay.
